T & W planning madness strikes again.
A planning application to renovate and split into two dwellings the derelict Longdon Mill Farmhouse has been refused !!!! Bear in mind this is not a deveopment it is simply returning a standing building back into habitable use. With the Government demanding high building quota's from T & W you would think they would be glad of any extra capacity handed to them on a plate.
So thanks to the planners what is supposed to happen to this building? Stand empty and decaying until the current plan expires in 2016?.
We appreciate and welcome the principle of the Plan preventing the over develoment of the rural areas however where buildings exist and are inhabitable in their current state then commonsense says they should be restored for use.
Hopefully the owner will appeal as previous evidence indicates an appeal would be successful particulary bearing in mind if the house was restored as-is no planning consent would be required. Being so large a property division into is two commonsense and the Inspectorate seem to have more of that than T & W Planning Dept. T & W recently rejected a similiar application quoting the Core Strategy policy document as the basis of rejection. We have exmamined that document and can only think they have a different copy to that published on their website.
