Meet the Team

Rodington Parish Council is made up of seven Councillors who meet monthly (except August) at alternative village halls in the parish. The council is responsible for the maintenance of the Rodington Cemetery, Ball Court, noticeboards around the parish and financing projects in the area such as bulb planting, street signage and annual Christmas trees.

The parish council is also there to report any issues that are causing concern to the parish such as potholes, dangerous trees, damaged road signage and public safety.

The parish council is a statutory consultee on all planning matters locally and expresses its view on those planning matters in accordance with its constitutional documents, namely the Standing Orders.

Vacancy

Councillors are expected to hold their office with honor and respect for their roles and in doing so they must adhere to a code of conduct. The parish councils code of conduct can be found on our policies page.

As being part an open and transparent public body, councillors must sign a pecuniary declaration of interests which shows the public what their personal interests are which may include financial or being part of another organisation which may receive funds through public taxation. Councillor should always declare their interests if a matter is brought to the councils attention that relates to that interest, in these circumstances councillors should not vote on these matters.

The pecuniary declaration of interests of councillors here at Rodington Parish Council can be found here.

Training and development

Rodington Parish Council maintains a record of recent training by all serving Councillors and staff of the Council and publishes this on its website for all to see as we believe this is important for the public to see that our voluntary Councillors are maintaining their skills and knowledge in the local government sector through a variety of different training.

The Clerks record of training is also kept on this register, although the Clerks training is part of their regular Continual Development Plan (CDP).
