Telford and Wrekin Local Plan submitted for independent examination

The Telford & Wrekin Local Plan has now been formally submitted to the Government’s Planning Inspectorate for independent examination.

Key milestones to date:
- 2023 – Public consultation on the draft plan.
- Dec 2024 – Jan 2025 – Cabinet and Full Council approved the publication version.
- Feb – May 2025 – Regulation 19 consultation on soundness and legal compliance.
- Sept 2025 – Submission to the Planning Inspectorate.

Public hearings will take place later this year or in early 2026, with dates, times and venues confirmed with at least six weeks’ notice.
